Reflecting on Our Journey - AWARDS

Making chocolate behind the "Redwood Curtain" can be an insular experience.  It was especially so in the early days of our business.  Years ago, as we honed our craft, we didn't have much outside contact with the craft chocolate community at large.  We made chocolate that we liked and were proud of, but it was hard to gauge how our chocolate stood up next to the other craft chocolate makers across the country.  Was our chocolate actually good, was a question we constantly asked ourselves.  By 2013 we were sheepishly confident enough in our chocolate to finally enter it into a contest to see how we stacked up.  We entered our 72% Belize Toledo bar into the Good Food Awards and the Northwest Chocolate Festival in the same year.  Much to our amazement, we won both a Good Food Award and a Bronze at the Northwest Chocolate Festival!!!!  This was a huge milestone for us. While our main goal isn't winning awards, it was a big boost to our confidence and helped us believe we were on the right track.

65% Tanzania won the Northwest Chocolate Festival Best In Show award.

Now, 15 years later, we are blown away to have won over 150 national and internationally recognized awards.  This is our fuel to keep making the best chocolate we possibly can as we charge ahead into the next 15 years!!  Thank you!
